VNA Nursing

There's no place like home. That's why thousands of Rhode Islanders turn to the VNA of Care New England for compassionate, high-quality home health care. Our nurses care for patients with a wide range of conditions and injuries, including cardiac care, diabetes care, wound care, and teaching on self-management of chronic diseases like heart failure and COPD, to rehabilitative therapy, including physical, occupational, and speech-language therapy, to hospice and palliative care. Under the direction of a physician, our skilled nurses work closely with patients and families to meet their physical, mental, and emotional needs.

For certain diagnoses, technology such as remote monitoring can monitor weight, blood pressure, pulse, and oxygenation on a daily basis, alerting the nurse for any needed intervention to prevent hospitalization. New Graduate Nursing Residency Program Now Accepting Applications The VNA of Care New England has launched a new graduate nursing residency program designed for newly licensed nurses and is currently accepting applicants.

Our Nurses:
  • Assess patient needs
  • Teach patients and family members about their medications, disease processes, and appropriate treatment
  • Help assess wound healing and coordinate quality care to optimize healing
  • Conduct post-operative assessments and monitor patient’s progress and needs

Across Care New England, nurses are coming together and going above and beyond to create and advance programs to support population health. Our nurses work in concert with senior leadership, fellow clinicians, and other employees, and are helping to pave the way to improved clinical collaboration and expanding their roles as partners in the continuum of care for the patients we serve.
