The VNA of Care New England provides state-of-the-art wound and ostomy care. Wound care is planned with the patient, family, and doctor based on the type of wound and other health issues. Advanced wound care products are often used to speed the healing process, reduce pain and odor, and decrease swelling. Wound types treated can include pressure injuries, surgical wounds, diabetic ulcers, and venous ulcers.
Ostomy care is also provided to teach the patient and family how to care of their stoma. Nurses are trained to deal with issues such as poor-fitting ostomy appliances.
