VNA of Care New England is pleased to announce that Meghan Kane, RN, has been selected by the National Association for Home Care (NAHC) as one of the top home care and hospice nurses in the country. Kane is featured in the May issue of Caring Magazine with one of her in-home pulmonary rehabilitation patients.
"We are excited and proud to have Meghan selected for this very special recognition. Her care and compassion reflects that of all the clinicians at VNA of Care New England," said Nancy Roberts, VNA of Care New England President and CEO.
To coincide with National Nurses' Week, celebrated every May, NAHC launched a nationwide search, asking its 33,000 members, affiliated state associations, and the American public to help identify top hospice and home care nurses. The nominations were evaluated by a committee of experts that selected the top 50 nurses with each state represented. NAHC members and the general public may now vote for Meghan to be selected as the National Home and Hospice Nurse of the Year by going to www.nahc.org and visiting the CARING Nurses section of the web page. Kane, a graduate of Quinnipiac University in Connecticut, joined VNA of Care New England in 2009. She is a Nurse Case Manager and previously worked in the Kent Hospital Emergency Department.
